Going for the Gold

With the 2008 Summer Olympics starting in a couple of days, I sit and wonder what makes 100’s and 1,000’s of athletes from around the world converge on one location to compete to be the best in their field. Would you believe it’s a medal made of Gold on a colorful strap around their neck that they will probably never wear again in public once they leave that venue. Why would anyone work for years, 5, 10, 15 hours per day for weeks, months and years just to receive a medal worth just a few hundred dollars of gold as a prize? They could have worked a normal job and saved their money and been able to buy more gold than is in the medal and been able to enjooy the Gold jewelry every single day.

These individuals are driven by desire....to be the best in the world. Each one knows when he or she goes to these events they can be eliminated by someone who is better than they are. What drives them to be so successful? They have a dream, a vision if you will. They are focused, determined to be the best. Their success just don’t happen, their success is a result of a daily thought process of visualizing a goal, commiting to make it happen and practicing every day for hours on end, doing the same thing over and over until it becomes second nature in their thought process and actions.

Those who started the process and wasn’t driven enough to follow a discipline schedule didn’t make the cut. We can’t all be a winner. Even in Biblical times is states that all must run...some will run well, however, there can only be one winner. That person who is the best in the world....has earned the right to be called the best. It didn’t just happen. You are the only one who can make that decision regarding your future in life. What you did yesterday is history....today is a current event....and tomorrow is the future which is a direct reflection on the foundation you laid today. Make the right choices!

When marketing on the internet the principles of good work habits will bring success to those who are willing to put forth the efforts that breed success. Just because you started your internet marketing journey yesterday with a fancy website and lots of money to purchased the latest, greatest, get rich quick scheme to promote your opportunity....isn’t enough to become the winner overnight. Each of us must follow a similar process as the athlete who has committed his or her life if necessary to become the best of the best. Be willing to give blood, sweat and tears if necessary to make it happen.

Every single athlete at the Olympics has a coach. Each of these individuals must be willing to take the advice of someone who has earned the right to teach the process of becoming a successful athlete. The athlete must trust the coach and his or her judgment and instructions to help build not only the physical part of the process but the mental process to become the best in the world. Just like the athlete, the process of successful marketing does not happen over night. You must have the same commitment as the participants in this remarkable event to become successful in your dreams of success. Most of us have been through the process of searching the web for that outstanding program that will make us millions of dollars. You know....the one where we can than retire in the islands and drink those fancy island drinks. The program that is the most wonderful thing since sliced bread! The one that you don’t have to advertise, make phone calls or do any recruiting. That type of poppycock....insults my intelligence.

How much money have you wasted on this kind of garbage? Everyone I talk to has been thru the same ridiculous procedure. I was in a meeting the other day and one of the individuals in the meeting had spent over $10,000 buying junk programs that was hyped to make them rich quick. If you don’t remember anything else here today, remember this one statement....There is NO legitimate get rich scheme that will make you rich overnight!! It takes work and dedication to be successful on the internet. Everything else is a lie.

Just making a fancy website with a lot of flash and hyped up content will ruin your chances of success on the internet. The search engines are not interested in flash, pictures and junk content. They are interested in one thing....and that is good keywords, and relevant content about your product or services being offered. By adding good content on a daily basis, search engine like Google will push your site to higher and higher positions. I reviewed a survey the other day, stating that 78% or more of the people who are doing a search for a product or service will Google the topic, business or individual that they are researching. Most people won’t go past page 2 of Google to research their interest. If you’re not positioned on page 1 or 2 of the search engines…you may never be found on the internet.

By consistently writing new articles with good keywords and content, Google will position you in their rankings so that people will find you quicker than if you just have a lot of glitz and glamour on your site. I reviewed a site this morning for a potential client who couldn’t understand why his site (which was well designed for looks) was going nowhere. When I reviewed the source code....there was NO keywords....NO meta tag description....and NO links. Plus there had been NO new content added since the site was built in June of 2005. It doesn’t take a take a rocket expert to figure out what’s wrong with that picture. However, if you don’t have the expertise to investigate the source, how would anyone ever know to look at the inner structure of the web site. You wouldn’t. Without proper training you probably don’t have a clue where to look either.

Most individuals don’t know how to go about building an effective, search engine friendly site. They don’t know where to turn to get the answers and learn the process. My name is Larry L. Writing articles is sometimes an arduous task that we all despise. Consistently writing articles with keyword specific content and posting those articles on the internet is the key to successful marketing. Individuals surfing on the internet are looking for information about a product or service they may be interested in at that particular moment.

Short, precise updated information is what it’s all about. Don’t try to hype a product and go on and on about your opportunity being the latest and greatest widget. Shoppers don’t like smoke and mirrors when looking to purchase an item. Shoppers are looking for straight forward information....about their interest at that moment.

The potential client will normally follow the cycle of human behavior. They will scan the content looking for words that will trigger additional interest in what they are already looking for. In my marketing experience…..I follow the 3 to 4 second rule. Get the potential clients Attention....spark an Interest....create a Desire ....and influence that individual to take Action. Shading the truth will always come back and bite you where it hurts. Don’t succumb to take the fateful path of shadowing the truth....always tell it like it is.

Have you ever dreamed of having a successful online business? Most of us have, at one time or another. However, statistics show that less than 5% of individuals using the internet actually make money. This computes to 95% of the people who are online....don't make money. They are spending their money on junk....get rich quick schemes. They are chasing a rainbow....to find that the mythical pot of gold doesn't exist.

Why do so many people fail on the internet? It’s really a simple answer. They believe all the hype of getting filthy rich, then spending the rest of their life laying on the beach on some beautiful island and never working again. Be realistic folks. Who do you know that has accomplished this incredible feat? Nobody! Human beings dream of getting something for nothing and that’s what they get....absolutely nothing.

You’re not alone in your desires to become successful in life. All of us have that desire in one form or another. The difference in those who become successful and those who fail is quite elementary. Positive thoughts build confidence....and will create good things happening all around you. Negative thoughts will....immediately destroys any chance of future success.

The art and science of online marketing is all about visualizing your success. Don’t just think about it. Do it! This process is not an overnight happening. Depending on your abilities and efforts you put into your dreams....will forever impact the end results of your success.

8. Commitment, Planning and Writing to Win

Commitment, Planning and Writing to Win

Writing articles….and publishing good keyword rich content on a consistent daily basis is imperative to earn online success. It takes a commitment to write an article that will have new meaning and effectiveness day after day. The more you write, the better you become at writing. Learn to write....by writing. Write as if you are talking to someone, and your own style will become powerful.

Having a strong Spiritual foundation makes this process manageable for me. The first thing I do everyday....read the Bible for at least 30 minutes with no interruptions. After my meditation....my mind is clear and in gear, and refreshed for my work activities for the day. Put first thing first in your life. The rest will fall into place like a puzzle.

Have a regular time slot for research....writing....and posting articles. This must be a top priority in your daily activities. One of the biggest pitfalls is to put off your writings until later in the day. Not writing the first thing in the morning, results in the failure to write at all. Commit to write early in your daily routine, otherwise all the other cares of life take over your time. Without consistent new content being written and published daily....your marketing endeavors will cease almost immediately.

Every time this part of my daily structure is interrupted....my day is out of step....for the rest of that day. My next step is to get my important e-mails out of the way. Don"t spend time on reading junk emails. Stay focused. Take care of business by making a list of events that need to be accomplished. Put activities in order of importance. Stay focused on that project until the project is complete. Then go to the next project.

Devote some time during your daily routine to learn something new, and then phase that new idea or procedure into a regular part of your daily routine. After a few days that new idea becomes an unconscious part of your daily activities.

If I don’t follow this simple plan, I become stagnant in my efforts to stay focused on the procedures and routines I have established. It takes discipline every day to keep the mind sharp and focused. If you don’t stay focused....its like a dog chasing his tail. He can’t catch his tail and he gets dizzy and has to quit this stupid act. May we all learn from that simple example! Stop going in circles and focus on the goals you establish for yourself. Stop chasing rainbows and get rich quick schemes.

The key to your success lies firmly in your hands. You can flounder all over the internet and waste a lot of money....looking to find a Magic Button. Forget it my friend....there is no such thing. It takes effort to make it happen. Commit the time necessary to make it happen. Each of us is different and our learning curve is sometimes challenged....however....we each need to sit down and talk to ourselves and evaluate exactly where we stand today and where we want to go in the future. Where do you want to go? Are you happy with your accomplishment of today? Re-evaluate your position and make the changes necessary to accomplish what is important in your life. Without good direction you will loose your way quickly. We will end up like the dog chasing his tail, right back where you started from. Dizzy....confused and the need for a plan....which you still have to implement. Stop wasting time and money and "get r done".

Make a plan….follow that plan, until the plan needs some adjustment. Patience is a virtue. Rome was not built in a day....neither will your success on the internet be happen overnight....be patient. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you run into an obstacle or loose your way. There are individuals who are trained and willing to help you succeed in your online marketing challenges.

The internet is all about information. When you want information about a particular product or service, what is the first thing most of us do? We Google it! We look for information that will be helpful for us to make an intelligent decision. Where is all this information coming from? From individuals just like you and I who have written article about a particular subject matter, and posted that information on the web for the world to see.

When writing an article, one must always keep in mind the very basics of writing. Don’t over complicate the process. The items you must cover in your article are quite simple, and they are often referred to as the 5 W’s….. who, what, when, where and why. You can put as many words in an article as you wish; however, most of us get bored after a few paragraphs anyway. Keep you information to the point and always be sure your comments are honest and verifiable. It only take one bad post to ruin months and even years of credibility.

When searching the internet for a product or service, a high percentage of people Google that item. Recent studies show that about 67% or more of individuals prefer Google over other search engines to find their product or service. If the item your searching for is not on the first page when you search for an item, how many time do you go to page two or higher? Not to often.....right?

22. Work from Home!

Work from Home!

Did you ever dream of owning your own business? Did you dream include....not having to go to a job with an irritating boss? Have your dreams included working from home, making money and not having to fight traffic to and from work? This may seem like the impossible dream to you …..however, it doesn’t have to be a dream anymore….you can make it a reality.

Build a business that you control, plus build a residual income is what it’s all about. An income that will grow in proportion to the efforts you put into that endeavor. Success doesn’t just happen. Success means different things to different people. Some very wealthy individuals may not be successful. They may know how to make money…but don’t have a clue about what success means to you and I. Success or failure is a mindset that each one of us must address as we approach the next step in our lives.

Wealth and success are the rewards of successful thinking. Failure is nothing more than a by product of successful individuals.

There a three things that we each control in our lives that will affect our outcome in life.

A positive attitude is imperative. In a recent article I quoted a very compelling statement. “If you hang with people who are positive, your attitude will become positive to. However, on the other hand, if you hang around with people with a negative attitude, you will be become very negative rather quickly!” Only you can make the choice of the type of individual you want to associate with. You can’t choose your family, but you can choose who you associate with. Attitudes….good or bad….is contagious.

Character is an necessity you must possess to become successful. In this day and age of anything goes….you need to think outside the box and consider whether your actions reflect a strong character. In this personal review, your actions must be unquestionable. Most of us are very conscience of whether what you’re saying is a lot of hot air, hype or untruthfulness…..or if what you’re saying is sincere and from the heart. Don’t try to BS you way through this business. Accept inabilities and learn to change the negative aspects of your life. Always be truthful in whatever you’re saying or doing. If you’re lying…..it will always come back to haunt you. This brings us to the next step.

Having a strong work ethics will definitely make the difference in success or failure in your future. If your work ethics has been questionable in your past…..you will probably not make it in this business very long. You must be a self-motivated individual and be able to control your time…..the time you’re willing to devote to your online activity. If you’re not willing to devote the time and training necessary to become a success, then waste no more of your time. I’m not being harsh here folks, but I have seen this scenario time and time again. I can’t stress enough, the importance of time management.
